PrestigeEscapesUK website is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store data on secure servers behind a firewall. Personal data will not be stored by Wix

We may use your personal data, but only if you have provided it to us, for the following purposes:

  • Homeowner: Name, surname, email address, postal address, phone number, country of residence,   bank account information, calendar of property availability, information relating to the accommodation, browsing data, as well as any other Personal Data that you voluntarily communicate to us. 

  • Guest: Name, surname, email address, postal address, phone number, country of residence, proof of identity (UK license or passport), reservation information, guest services information, browsing data and any other Personal data that you voluntarily communicate to us. 

  • User: Name, surname, contact details, desired destination, potential arrival and departure dates, email address, phone number, browsing data, as well as any other voluntarily communicated to us. 

  • Partner: Name, surname, company name, contact details, potential arrival and departure dates, email address, phone number, browsing data, as well as other information specified in our agreement with you. 

  • We have obtained your personal data from:​ Your completion of the enquiry form online, a message sent to us via social media, email, text message, or telephone.

 

5. What is our legal basis for processing your personal data?

Our lawful basis for processing your general personal data:

 

  • Contractual basis – we are obliged to keep a record of the information you have provided to us. We must also keep a record of transactions for HMRC.​

  • Legitimate interest – you have made us aware that you are interested in our services. We will not share any of your information with any other business or partners. ​

  • Lawful consent – you have given us permission to contact you and you can retract this consent at any time. We will keep your details for 7 years before contacting you to update them or remind you that you have the option to remove them. 

 

6. Storing and sharing your personal data

Your personal data will be treated as strictly confidential and will not be shared unless a requirement of law dictates our obligation to provide information.

 

We use secure sharing software including: Gmail and Google Drive on our website, which is protected with an SSL certificate. Data about you is kept on a secure cloud-based system on a password-locked computer with up to date virus and malware protection software. This information can be accessed on portable devices such as mobile phones, tablet or laptop, which are all locked when not in use and password protected by relevant anti-virus software. Some data such as phone numbers are kept on a mobile phone used for personal and business use.

All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by us adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information.

We keep your personal data for no longer than reasonably necessary or for a period of 7 years for HMRC taxation purposes.

  • We require your contact details: name, phone number and address and proof of identification in order to book accommodation.​

  • We will accept the following forms of identification (ID): a copy of your UK driving license or passport. A minimum of one piece of photographic ID listed above and a supporting document is required.

  • ​To list your property on our site we will need contact details of all property owners: name, phone number, address and proof of identification.

Unless subject to an exemption, you have the following rights with respect to your personal data:

  • The right to request a copy of the personal data which we hold about you;

  • The right to request that we correct any personal data if it is found to be inaccurate or out of date;

  • The right to request your personal data is erased where it is no longer necessary to retain such data;

  • The right to request that we provide you with your personal data and where possible, to transmit that data directly to another data controller, (known as the right to data portability), (where applicable i.e. where the processing is based on consent or is necessary for the performance of a contract with the data subject and where the data controller processes the data by automated means);

  • The right, where there is a dispute in relation to the accuracy or processing of your personal data, to request a restriction is placed on further processing;

  • The right to object to the processing of personal data, (where applicable i.e. where processing is based on legitimate interests (or the performance of a task in the public interest/exercise of official authority); direct marketing and processing for the purposes of scientific/historical research and statistics).
